The Texas Senate unanimously approved a $308 billion two-year budget last week, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The next step is to reconcile that budget with one passed earlier by the Texas House.
Dear SMCISD Community, I am writing to express my support for the SMCISD May bond election. I believe that this bond is essential to the future of our school district and the community as a whole.
April is both Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Awareness month. The following article is the fourth article of a five-week series focusing on raising awareness about sexual assault and child abuse. Locally, HCWC served 660 community members that experienced sexual assault or abuse and 639 children at Roxanne’s House, our Children’s Advocacy Center.
As faith leaders formed in peacemaking, we are deeply grieved by the recent decision of the San Marcos CISD school board to institute a school marshal program which would place concealed firearms in the hands of school employees. We support the goal of keeping our children and community safe, but putting concealed guns into the hands of school personnel is not the answer. We appeal to the board to reconsider this decision, or at least to take a few more sessions to consider a wider range of options.
Dear Voters I am a proud mother to four sons, three of which that have graduated through the San Marcos CISD school system and a current San Marcos HS student. SMCISD has done a tremendous job educating my boys and I am thankful for the supportive administration and caring teachers of the district.
My car is currently in hospice. I’m trying to keep it comfortable and provide a reasonable amount of care, but I’ve accepted that it’s probably approaching the end of its life.
San Marcos CISD is holding an informational session on the upcoming school bond election on Thursday, April 20, at 6:30 p.m., in the Performing Arts Center (PAC), at San Marcos High School.
Earth Day is coming April 22, and I can’t think of a better opportunity for Americans to get their hands dirty.
