We are fortunate to live in an area where freezing temps are not all that common, even in the dead of winter. That means water in birdbaths may have a thin skim of ice some mornings, but will seldom remain completely frozen all day.

One idea currently getting a lot of attention is increasing the minimum wage to $15 per hour.
My journey has taught many “life-force truths.” In my life, when facing choices, I used my own guide that the “The hard way is the right way.” If I have faced choices with close variables, I always wanted to choose the harder way over the easier way.
Technology advances at such a rapid pace that it can be hard for consumers to keep up. Something that maybe didn’t exist as recently as a few years ago may already be considered obsolete, while some solutions that were on the periphery for years may suddenly become vital to how individuals and businesses operate.

Future park visitors will enjoy another opportunity to get up, get out and enjoy the wide-open spaces of Big Bend when work is completed on a new hiking trail next year. The Lone Mountain Trail will circumnavigate the base of Lone Mountain, an imposing feature just north of park headquarters at Panther Junction.
