Friday, August 9, 2019

Hays County Precinct 1 Commissioner Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe announced her intention to seek re-election.

Ingalsbe said in her announcement that “it has been an honor serving as commissioner for over 20 years and I look forward to continuing our work together to make strong and positive impacts in Hays County.”

“As Commissioner, I will continue to be a strong supporter of public safety, veteran and social services and will work hard to keep our taxes low, while providing the services our citizens expect,” Ingalsbe said in a statement.

Ingalsbe said she plans to support protecting Hays County’s natural resources against outside companies. She said great strides are ongoing to improve roads throughout the county and will continue to be involved with leveraging resources to improve the local and state transportation network.

Additionally, Ingalsbe lists health care as a top priority. According to a press release, Ingalsbe has “sponsored and led efforts to partner with our local hospital, which has provided extended hours and the availability of specialty doctors at our local health department.”

Ingalsbe also said she is committed to working on ways to improve and implement services, programs and provide representation for all needing help.

Ingalsbe is currently on multiple local and regional boards, including the Capital Area Council of Governments Executive Committee, Greater SM Partnership, Economic Development SM, Southside Community Center, Board President, and Hays County Criminal Justice Commission.
