Randy Rogers raises $150,000 for nonprofit

Texas music mainstays Randy Rogers Band donated back into the community gifting $150,000 to New Braunfels nonprofit organization Connections Individual and Family Services. The organization is dedicated to empowering youth, connecting families, and building futures one youth and one family at a time. While Rogers is known of his musical success, he is also a graduate of Texas State University and owns Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos.

Community Invited to Road Bond update focused on projects developing east of I-35 in Kyle

The city of Kyle invites the community to get updates, ask questions and learn more about the Kyle Parkway/Lehman Extension, Bunton Creek Road, and Windy Hill Road Bond Projects at a Neighborhood Update event on Wednesday, Jan. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Kyle Public Works Building, 520 RM 150.

Chili Dog Stand announces closure after 71 years

People line up down the block to try a chili dog from the 71 year old stand one last time. The extensive line of traffic, along with the construction closing one lane of the Interstate 35 access road, meant that the popularity of the Chili Dog Stand stopped traffic this week as people tried to get one last taste.

Chili Dog Stand announces closure after 71 years

The Chili Dog Stand, a San Marcos restaurant staple for the past 71 years, announced that it is closing its doors on Saturday Dec. 30.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

The early fireworks show at Roughhouse Brewery, which is located on Ranch Road 12 between San Marcos and Wimberley, was a huge hit and is scheduled once again this year. There is also a fireworks schedule later in the evening at the more traditional time at the Happy Cow down Hunter Road.

Associate Professor of Physics Nikoleta Theodoropoulou, PH.D., is studying the addition of transition metal oxides—perovskite oxides—to silicon and the electrical and magnetic properties that could create.
