As mentioned last week, from a Resource Recycling newsletter, we find every year Americans throw away around 45 billion aluminum used beverage cans (UBC). And these landfilled cans are estimated to be worth about $800 million. (This waste is a Bummer!)

Michael Clay Smith passed away on Monday, August 3, 2020, at the age of 61. Service will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020, 11 a.m. at Pennington Funeral Home, 323 N. Comanche St., San Marcos, Texas.
Rosa Marie Rubrecht Mitchell was born August 29, 1931 in Gainesville, Texas to Ruby Lorraine Cunningham Rubrecht and Johna Rubrecht. Her love of art began at an early age and she landed her first job as an artist at 13 years old as a photographic colorist at her aunt’s studio. Rosa continued this craft by painting for three studios while studying fine art at The University of Texas at Austin. There she met her future husband Raymond Lloyd (Mitch) Mitchell. They married at her mother’s house in Gainesville on Sept. 8, 1949. Rosa quit her formal studies to help put Mitch through college.

Robert “Bobby”- “Bob” Olson left our physical world on July 27th 2020 at the age of 71. Bobby is remembered as an eternal gentleman, a man with great charisma who connected with everyone who met him or watched any of his films. He is survived by his talented sisters Arnette and Carla, his beautiful wife Antonella and his dear daughter Romina and grandson Gian Luke.
