Cadets in the San Marcos Academy’s Junior ROTC presented new, unwrapped toys to Brown Santa Dec. 11 after a week-long collection period on campus. The Bear Battalion has collected toys for the Hays County Brown Santa program for the past several years as their annual service-learning project. With Brown Santa are cadets Aaron Emerich, Caleb Guenther, Mac Daniel Howard, Ashton Blackstone, Josh Burich, Doyce Gore, David Britton, Gabby Cianciotto, Conner Irwin, Addy Cianciotto and Hudson Lee. Alfredo C. Espinoza, 71, of Austin passed away Dec. 20, 2018 at Southpark Meadows Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Austin. Funeral services will be Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at 3:30 p.m.
