ECONOMIST: Texas Tomorrow

The Texas economy has been on a strong growth trajectory. About 1.1 million of the 4.5 million net jobs the United States has gained since just prior to the pandemic (February 2020) have been in Texas. Looking ahead, our analysis indicates that this dynamic state economy is likely to continue to outperform the nation. Let’s take a brief look at key drivers of expansion over the next few decades.

Rattlers fast start leads to dominate win over the Laredo Johnson Wolves

San Marcos rolled to a 74-46 victory over Laredo LBJ off the back of a 19-6 first quarter that set the tone for the rest of the game. Rattlers’ fullcourt press and constant ball pressure disrupted the Wolves’ offense for 32 minutes, and the San Marcos’ offense capitalized off turnovers as well as executing their offensive sets.

Mermaid Society partners with TXST University to aid eco-guardianship program

The Mermaid Society of San Marcos–a group that uses the magic of costume to teach local children about endangered species in the rivers and springs and how to be good stewards of the city’s natural resources–recently entered into a strategic partnership with Texas State University’s McCoy College of Business in which a student led fundraising campaign produced $1,500 in order to support the group’s Eco-guardianship programming.
