County tests voting machines in preparation for May election

In order to provide for a fair election this May 6 and beyond, staff, volunteers and observers met Tuesday in a mock mini-election with 33 sample ballots to test the county’s voting machines. The test is designed to ascertain that each machine “will accurately count the votes cast for all offices and on all measures,” according to county officials.

Negotiations begin for new city, police ‘meet and confer’ agreement

The city of San Marcos will meet tomorrow with the San Marcos Police Officers’ Association for the first day of discussions on the renewed negotiations on the “meet and confer” agreement that was repealed in February.

Schuler is LBJ spring lecture guest

LBJ Museum of San Marcos will host its spring lecture Thursday, March 23. The lecture features Jean Schuler, author of At the Table with LBJ and Lady Bird: History, Humor, and True Texas Recipes. The event begins with a reception at 6 p.m. followed by the lecture at 6:30 p.m.
