The city of San Marcos has been awarded $13,875,840 under the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Promoting Resilient Operations for Transformative, Efficient and Cost-Saving Transportation (PROTECT) Discretionary Grant Program. The agency announced the award April 11. The funding will be used to complete a stormwater mitigation project in the Sunset Acres neighborhood.
Hays County has a new Fire Marshal. Steve Seddig has 28 years of service with the city of Wylie Fire Rescue where he served as a Fire Marshal, Division Chief and Texas Peace Officer. He is a certified Texas Master Fire Investigator and an International Association of Arson Investigators Certified Fire Investigator.
DEAR ABBY: I am on a limited income. My younger sister, “Tara,” is a medical professional with disposable income she spends on frivolous things. I have one son, age 13; she has three children, ages 14, 10 and 3. Tara and I live a few miles apart; our mother lives 60 miles away. My mother keeps my sister’s kids every other week.
