Lacey Fields has had an exciting year. In addition to attending classes at San Marcos Academy and completing all of the rites of passage that accompanies being a senior, she fulfilled the commitments to her crown as Texas Teen Miss Heart of the USA.

The Hands of Hope Tea ’N More returns this year on April 22. The event will begin at 1 p.m. with table previews and a silent auction in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, located at 325 West Mc-Carty Lane. The high tea, catered by the Texas Pie Company of Kyle, will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a spring fashion show by Chico’s following after.

Broadway in Austin announces 2023-2024 season

Texas Performing Arts’ Broadway in Austin announces its 2023-24 season lineup with six Austin premieres and the return of two favorites. The 2023-24 season will include the new original musical “Six,” the Lerner & Loewe’s production of “My Fair Lady,” “Tina – The Tiny Turner Musical,” the Broadway hit based on Tim Burton’s classic film, “Beetlejuice,” a new musical featuring the songs of Bob Dylan called “Girl From the North Country” and the Disney musical, “Frozen.” Additionally, season ticket holders can add one or two more shows to the year: “Wicked” and “The Book of Mormon.”

Since 2012, artists and artisans of all kinds convene in the heart of San Marcos to showcase and sell their works, reflecting the unique community that makes San Marcos so special. This year, Art Squared welcomes a new market director, Karly Schlievert, who is a local artist herself and has a passion for cultivating her local art community.
