Fun ways for seniors to stay active

Physical activity is an important component of overall health. Health experts advise that exercise can increase lean body mass, prevent conditions like diabetes and cardiovascular disease, improve balance, and positively affect mental health/cognition. Exercise also can foster socialization with others, helping people overcome boredom and isolation.

Unleash your inner Rock Star, or Country Star, at our next Silver Singers Karaoke at the San Marcos Activity Center. Registration is not required. Participants must agree that they have read and understand the City of San Marcos Parks and Recreation Department Release and Waiver of Liability and will have to sign the waiver when attending an event at the Activity Center.

T'is all about the green

Be on the lookout for leprechauns! They probably came from the library. The San Marcos Library held a St. Patrick's Day arts and crafts session for kids making leprechaun hats for St. Patrick’s Day. There are still some hats left to give away, so stop by the library to pick up one for your leprechaun while supplies last.
