Youth, School Donations

The Greater San Marcos Youth Council donated school supplies to Gary Job Corps staff families, to get the school year off to a fine start. GSMSYC and the Gary Job Corps have partnered for two decades, collaborating on everything from helping the youth at Christmas to assisting with projects. The most recent activity was the Community Bingo held at the Espinoza Recreation Center. GSMYC operates a private non-profit Children’s Shelter for children 2-17. Health officials recommend children, seniors receive flu, RSV, COVID-19 shots early

As the country enters the cold and flu illness season, Texas physicians warn there are three viruses lurking in the air–the influenza virus that causes the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Physicians say the best way to say safe–especially for those at greatest risk of severe illness–is to vaccinate against all three.

SMHS reunion Nov. 10-11

Get ready to dance back in time to the “groovy 70s” as the San Marcos High School Rattler alumni from this era come together for its reunion, called the “That 70’s Reunion Show,” on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the LBJ Center on the campus of Texas State University.
