Ranch marks 50th anniversary of brothel’s closure with new edition
Hays County District Attorney Kelly Higgins recently announced that a Hays County jury found Caden Farese guilty of possession of a controlled substance – fentanyl, a state jail felony. That jury subsequently sentenced him to 18 months in state jail.

With a hearty push, Mayor Jane Hughson is joined by city staff and state officials to guide Engine 6 into its new home. Senate passes tax bill as second special session begins The Texas Senate on the first day of the Legislature’s second special session unanimously passed a tax bill last Wednesday that increases the homestead exemption and includes a pay hike for teachers, the Austin American-Statesman reported. The first special session ended with the Senate and House unable to agree on how to provide property tax relief.
The Wimberley VFW Rodeo is the longest running rodeo in Hays County having first started in 1935 while taking place during the July 4th weekend. Being a partner of the local VFW chapter in Wimberley, the Rodeo is also a way to give back to the veterans who have served.
