A fire early Monday destroyed most of the Country Corner Store located on Redwood Road, near Crossover and Old Gin roads. At time of press, no cause for the fire was available and there were no injuries reported. Responding were the York Creek Volunteer Fire Department, San Marcos Fire Department and other nearby fire and emergency agencies.

Bobcats stun Warhawks with last second comeback, first 5-win season since 2014

Texas State scored 12 unanswered points with less than five minutes remaining in the game, as the Bobcats stunned the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks, 21-20, to seal the team’s first five-win season since 2014 in front of the fifth largest crowd at Bobcat Stadium.
