Rattlers drop home opener to Pflugerville Weiss

The Rattlers were unable to overcome the suffocating defense of Weiss, as San Marcos dropped their first home game of the season 54-0 in Toyota Rattler Stadium, marking the season with a 0-2 record.

The Bobcat defense sallow up the UTSA rushing attack in Texas State’s 49-10 win over the Roadrunners. It is the least amount of points that either Texas State or UTSA has allowed in a game during the history of the I-35 Rivalry as well as being the biggest blowout in the game’s history.

Professor teaches history of the terms cult and brainwashing

What is a cult? Is it a group that brainwashes individuals leaving them unable to think for themselves? Is a cult even a legitimate concept? Joseph Laycock, Texas State University Religious Studies assistant professor, thinks that brainwashing is an outdated and often misguided term and that the term “cult” is not specific enough to offer any solutions or a real understanding of what is occurring in groups classically labeled that way.
