Father’s threat leads to change in family dynamics

DEAR ABBY: While I was visiting my father-in-law, a heated conversation turned violent. My husband, “Rob,” was helping his dad and a neighbor with a house project. When Rob’s dad became upset at him, he lifted the power saw he was holding, turned it on and motioned toward Rob saying, “You’re lucky I don’t slit your throat.” He said some other unkind things and we left. He has not reached out to my husband since, and Rob has deleted his phone number.

New TXST study shows 'overwhelming' increase in dry springs across state

New department aims to shrink jail population

Even after the recent expansion of the Hays County Jail, inmates are still outsourced to other counties due to overcrowding. It is an issue that has been ongoing for years, and Hays County has been working to reduce those numbers, as well as the associated expenditures that go with it. There is a relatively new department dedicated to doing just that. The Hays County Commissioners Court received a presentation on the status of the Judicial Services Department in the county at the regularly scheduled meeting last week.

Miller Middle School Choirs Shine at UIL Competition

Two choirs from Miller Middle School achieved superior success at the recent UIL Concert and Sight-Reading Competition held at Nimitz Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. Both choirs received the highest rating of 1s across the board, showcasing their exceptional talent and dedication.
