City to consider more coordination of transit services with Texas State

The San Marcos City Council has many items of note on today’s agenda, including the consideration of setting a tax rate, purchases pertaining to housing rehabilitation, construction of Taxiway Alpha and surveying services, and the interlocal agreement with Texas State University to provide additional coordination of the transit systems that connect city and university spaces.

Court reviews Oak Grove fire cause, preparedness

Hays County Judge Ruben Becerra used the burn ban agenda item as a chance to discuss the approximately 400-acre Oak Grove Fire that tore through Hays County just Northwest of San Marcos this past weekend. He pointed out the need for additional access to the area by safety personnel.

Court to discuss need for pretrial case management software, election security

Hays County Commissioners Court is set to meet today at 9 a.m. On the agenda for the regularly scheduled meeting is the possible purchase of case management software for pretrial services, additional funds for RM 12 safety improvements, the purchase of security cameras for the IT and elections department and a Hays County Historical Commission appointment.
