Andes is an adventurous 5-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix with a playful, goofy spirit. This sweet pup loves the water and is often hanging out at the kiddie pool with a big smile. Andes has had good interactions with other dogs and has cohabitated with several dogs in kennels. This handsome fawn-colored pup has been at the shelter since late January of 2022, and he is excited to finally head to a forever home!

KZSM—Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting Thursday As we prepare to expand to the FM dial as KZSM 104.1, we at your true community radio station are extending and growing our deep roots in the local community. As part of that process, we have become members of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce, and we will be honored with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. this Thursday, September 28 at our studio at 216 North Guadalupe.

Man charged in connection to Iconic Village apartment fire to be released on personal bond

The man who is charged with arson causing bodily injury/death, a first degree felony, in connection to the Iconic Village apartment fire in July 2018 that killed five and injured others, including one critically, will be released on personal bond, according to the Hays County District Attorney’s Office.

In advance of the 7th Annual Mermaid Capital of Texas Fest on Saturday, members brought the gift of books featuring the San Marcos River, mermaids and eco-guardianship to SMCISD elementary and Bonham Pre-K libraries. The official launch was held at Mendez Elementary with a symbolic ribbon-cutting and mermaid-themed parade.
