Art Scared is back

For the fourth consecutive year, the San Marcos Art League is bringing Art Scared back to the downtown Square on Saturday, Oct. 21.

The observance of “Patriots’ Day' holds a solemn place for the Gary Job Corps Center each September. The ceremony on Sept. 11 brought together the center's cadets and instructors, as they all honored the memory of PFC Kristan Menchaca, a Gary Job Corps Corrections graduate who lost his life in Iraq in 2006 while serving with the U.S. Army during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Texas Mutual Insurance Company, a policyholder- owned company and the state’s leading provider of workers’ compensation insurance, has distributed $340 million in dividends to over 69,000 Texas businesses, representing approximately 92% of the company’s policyholders, according to a press release Wednesday.
