San Marcos may be much loved by humans as a tourist destination, but the town is also an important stopover site for migrating birds, particularly Neotropical migrants who make their yearly trek from South and Central America to Texas.

TXDOT seeks community input for project affecting FM 2720

The Texas Department of Transportation at time of press was set to hold a virtual and in-person public meeting to “present and discuss proposed improvements” to FM 2720, where it runs from State Highway 2 to State Highway 142, crossing both Hays and Caldwell counties.

On Wednesday, the Hays County Animal Shelter had its trailer out in front to draw the public's attention to animals available for adoption. Pictured are Michele Helgrin holding Lefteye Lopez, a dog waiting for a forever home. Adoptions are only $22 for all ready to go pets (already spayed/neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped).
