San Marcos Mayor Jane Hughson has signed a Declaration of Local State of Disaster with wintry precipitation expected Saturday night and throughout the weekend.

The Hays County Local Health Department reported 192 additional recoveries from COVID-19, 45 new lab-confirmed cases, six hospitalizations and three hospital discharges on Friday.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Hays County, which goes into effect at 6 a.m. on Saturday and stretches through 12 p.m. on Monday.
